The Frozen Dreamer

Theme: You dream in vivid detail, but freeze the moment it’s time to begin.

You are the Frozen Dreamer - someone with big visions, ideas, and dreams. You have ideas that could move people and stories that want to be told. But something in you stalls the moment you try to bring them into life. You dream, you plan, you imagine...but when it’s time to act, something happens. You freeze up. It’s not because you don’t care or because you’re not capable. But because your nervous system is doing its job: protecting you.

Your Nervous System Pattern

You likely live in a chronic freeze state, which is basically a quiet, internal shutdown that tells you that it’s never really safe to take action. You’re frozen in time. You feel emotionally numb, distracted, and overwhelmed by possibility. There are so many shiny pretty things to focus on, and you just can’t choose! So instead of risking making the wrong decision, you just don’t make any decisions! It’s easier to be indecisive than to pick the wrong thing!

You’re soooo good at coming up with the best (worst) excuses to taking actual actions towards your desires because you think you’ll fail and low-key you’re afraid of your own success.

Perfectionism Type

Your whole thing is that you’re “waiting for the perfect time”, and each time, you have some creative reason for why now is not the right time. If people had $5 for every time you came up with a creative story about why now is not the first time... Let me guess, Mercury is in gatrorade? Or new year is a better time to start? Or today is an odd number day, and you want to start on an even number day, but that's not a Monday so you want to wait until Monday falls on an even number but not too close to the new moon because...

Wow. Who else has a headache? Even you!

Your type of perfectionism really translates to procrastination.

You're a great procrastinator because you really believe some of these stories that you tell yourself. And even if there is SOME truth to timing being divine, most of your stories are truly full of shit. It's easier for you to escape taking responsibility for what you actually want, because a part of you doesn't know how to take action towards those things. So instead, you blame timing and a whole bunch of other stuff rather than taking responsibility.

You know deep inside that most things don’t really have to do with timing, but rather you truly feel like you will fail if you bothered trying. Like what if you gave it your all and it just wasn’t enough? What did you tried your hardest and it doesn’t work out?

Yeah okay. But what if it does? You may feel emotionally numb, distracted, overwhelmed by possibility.

Or stuck in thought loops:

  1. “I’m not ready.”

  2. “I need to figure it out first.”

  3. “What if I mess this up?”

  4. “What if I start and can't finish?”

Your Loop

Your Emotional Patterns

Your emotional cycles are predictable:

  1. You get excited and then you shutdown

  2. You have so much clarity around a project or idea, but then here comes self-doubt

  3. You have a lingering fear of being seen too early, too messily, too imperfectly

  4. You hold shame around not “living up to your potential”

So, you know you’re deeply capable of doing whatever it is that you’re dreaming of, but this inner critic (usually with a nice little wounding from your inner child) takes over any logic. You go into over planning mode, thinking that you need to know all the details of something before you can take any reasonable actions. And the longer you procrastinate and wait, the more avoidant you get…the more shame you feel about waiting or wasting your time. Does this sound familiar?

Energy Gates + Strengths

Your upper chakras, the third eye and crown are most active. You’re highly connected to inspiration, vision, dreams, and potential. You’re likely a downloader - meaning that you’re not short of ideas or inspo. This is pretty easy for you. These active upper chakras means that you’re an excellent daydreamer! You can visualize - whether literally seeing images in your mind’s eye, or conceptualizing what it means to see your vision come to fruition.

Shadows

BUT, being so much in the upper chakras also means that you’re prone to overthinking, dissociation, analysis paralysis, and maladaptive daydreaming. It’s like all the ideas just collect at your head and just stay there. That’s when your delulu is NOT the solulu; you have to bring it back to earth. You can SEE the vision, but you can’t bring it down into tangible reality.

Underactive: Root, Sacral, and Throat (Lower + Expression Energy Centers)

These lower energy centers being less activated means that you often as out of body, since you’re so much in your mind. You don’t feel grounded enough to take creative risks, or you fear instability. In your head, you got it all figured out, but what does it mean to actually put this thing, whatever it is, out in the world? Because this impacts your intuition, you’re likely to second guess yourself and that can make your energy go all over the place. Where is the FIRE behind your desire?

Elements overactive air; underactive fire

You’re way in your head, so it’s time to balance the air energy. It’s giving head in the clouds with no sight of the ground! Because there is no where to land, there also lacks passion. The fire element bring the spark, the motivation, momentum, the grit! The air is blowing out the fire before you even get to begin.
